Housing Advocacy Team (HAT) is a part of MANNA, an affordable housing non-profit located in Washington DC. HAT’s mission is to join with others to create a constituency of concerned neighbors and friends who will act as a powerful voice to influence public policy and resource allocation for affordable housing and asset building in the District, with a particular focus on affordable homeownership. We are building a network of supporters and advocates for a diversity of affordable housing, displacement prevention and preservation of economic and cultural diversity in DC neighborhoods. We keep our supporters informed and active in affordable housing issues and events in the District via both mail and email alerts as well as work with other advocacy groups such as the Coalition for Nonprofit Housing and Economic Development.
Our Mission Statement: The Housing Advocacy Team (HAT) is a group of individuals committed to ongoing education, organizing, and advocacy around the continuum of affordable housing options, including supportive, transitional, rental, cooperative housing, and traditional homeownership.
Come Join Us! HAT meets every 2nd Monday of the month, 6:30-8pm at Manna – 828 Evarts St, NE (3 blocks from Rhode Island Metro stop). Contact Sarah Scruggs at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
